The college has over 1,800 students studying across five graduate certificates, seven undergraduate majors, two undergraduate minors, 13 master’s degrees, three Ph.D., and two Ed.D. programs housed in three academic departments: Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education; and Teacher Education and Learning Sciences, with approximately 130 tenure-track and professional-track faculty, 110 support and professional staff, and about 160 graduate and teaching assistants. The College of Education is also home to the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research and the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation.

Essential Job Duties
Specific Duties Include:
Human Resources
This position will provide consultation in human resources best practices that support the Belk Center in achieving its goals and objectives. The individual will interpret policies and practices in the context of the Belk Center’s needs and in alignment with NC State University and advise on decisions that are impacted by laws, policies, and procedures. This includes but is not limited to: benefits administration; career planning; classification; compensation; employee retention; employee relations; employment; HR Information Systems; international employment; legal compliance; payroll; policy administration; staff development; talent management; workforce planning and/or closely related programs. Monitors and oversees all payroll reconciliations.
Financial
This position will oversee the budget of the Belk Center within the College of Education. This individual will manage all internal fiscal operations, assist leadership with budget and strategic planning, and prepare spending plans, grant reports, and audits.
Other
- Plans and leads budget/grant meetings and other financial meetings with the Executive Director, Deputy Director, and other staff.
- Develops and manages contracts with NCSU legal assistance.
- Represents Belk Center when needed for external stakeholders.
Note: This position requires an on-campus presence to effectively perform the essential duties of the position. As such, employees must reside within a commutable distance and must report to campus regularly to perform certain work-related tasks as a condition of employment.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires post-baccalaureate credentials plus 2-4 years experience; a bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
- At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role with supervisory duties;
- At least 3 years of experience in budget management or equivalent experiences.
Other Required Qualifications
- Experience managing budgets and executing human resources functions;
- Strong capacity in the use of different platforms to support the center’s operations in finance, HR, and research.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in research administration/management;
- Master’s in Business or Public Administration or a degree related to management and economics in educational settings;
- Strong skills regarding technology systems and the use of different platforms to support the center’s operations in finance, HR, and research.
