Essential Job Duties
The Human Resources Benefits Specialist serves as part of the University Human Resources Benefits team and will provide oversight for eligibility, enrollment, compliance, reporting, problem resolution, and risk management for all health and supplemental benefit plans including the Affordable Care Act (ACA) plan. This position manages the process for evaluating qualified life events regarding employee benefits, changes, and approval. As part of the Benefits team, this position will assist walk-in and call-in customers that need quick answers and will be responsible for the management and triage of benefits cases in HRNow.
Maintain a standard of customer service that reflects the commitment to prompt responsiveness to our customers and colleagues. Establishes and maintains productive collaborative professional work relationships with internal and external clients. Responsible for ACA eligibility and clearly communicating health insurance options to those eligible and ensuring compliance.
A hybrid schedule is available but the schedule will be determined after the training.

Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalency;
