Job Summary
This part-time position will support one faculty member and their dynamic, cutting-edge research lab within the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology.
Position Description
In support of the faculty member, the Faculty Assistant will maintain and update faculty documents (bibliographies, CVs, reference letters, lab member visa support letters, presentations, and/or web pages), contribute to course/presentation materials, assist with grant proposal administrative organization, maintain paper and electronic filing systems, manage a minority of telephone and email communications, schedule meetings and events.
In support of the faculty member’s large and complex laboratory, the faculty assistant will serve as information resource and point administrative contact for lab members, including postdoctoral fellows, research associates, Ph.D. and undergraduate students, and lab staff. The Faculty Assistant will facilitate completion of appointment documents, monitor and coordinate visa applications and appointments, make travel arrangements for lab members, guests (and occasionally the faculty member), process reimbursements and corporate card payments, schedule lab meetings and events, and approve reported time and absences for lab staff members.
The assistant will also be responsible for the allocation of lab costs to predetermined funding sources, personnel rosters/lab directory, and equipment inventory; as well as for faculty budgeted administrative expenses (mail, copier, telecom, office supplies). Other responsibilities may include occasional general support for SCRB administration.
Basic Qualifications
Three plus years related experience, with proven office administration experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Strong customer service skills are required. Business training or college degree preferred, or an equivalent of education plus experience in an office environment. Solid working knowledge of office processes and systems, and of related computer software and electronic communications tools. Proven organization and interpersonal skills, with experience providing complex administrative support to one or more.
Ability to work across teams and with a variety of projects and constituencies.

Additional Information
This is a one year term position with the possibility of extension based on availability of continued funding.
