Job Summary
- Assist the electrical staff in maintaining the lighting and clock systems in all buildings and campuses.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Ability to locate, report and replace defective equipment (light bulbs) in a variety of fixtures throughout all Salt Lake Community College buildings and campuses
- Ability to organize all lighting storage areas
- Ability to keep lighting inventory current
- Ability to carry multiple-height ladders
- Ability to operate a man lift and other equipment
- Ability to become certified to operate a man lift and other equipment within one-month of employment
- Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy items up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas, as presented verbally and on paper.
- Ability to work in high areas off the ground.
- There may be risks which require the use of special safety precautions and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A Valid Utah Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to learn a work order system
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
