TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE 2, Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE)-Accelerated Materials Laboratory for Sustainability (AMLS) Group, to perform mechanical duties on high-throughput liquid synthesis, materials fabrication, characterization, and performance measurement. Will work with lab researchers on fabricating solar devices, developing experiment protocols, co-supervising junior team members, and leading the lab’s fabrication facilities. Duties include every aspect of the research life cycle. Responsibilities include managing experimental data collection; designing and conducting experiments in a wet lab, including thin-film deposition and solar cell fabrications; supporting team members and a range of research projects and developing experimental procedures into scalable prototypes; performing structural, optical, and electrical characterizations of thin-film samples and solar devices; managing and supervising use of a glovebox, thermal evaporator, and environmental chamber; assisting with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipment; performing independent data analysis and presenting research results; working with researchers on performing computational research, fabricating research specimens, designing process optimization, and updating and enforcing safety protocols; managing chemical purchasing and inventory; assisting with general lab and tool maintenance; assisting with removal, acquisition, and setup of equipment; serving as lab safety co-officer and collaborating with other safety officer(s) on training on lab safety, tools, and data best practices; and other tasks as needed.
