Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
We seek a post-doc cropping systems modeler to work with the APSIM model to quantify corn and soybean yield response to management practices across a range of environments. The post-doc will investigate systems approaches to improve overall systems nitrogen use efficiency, as well as assist the multi-disciplinary Iowa Nitrogen Initiative team in developing decision support tools and the development of peer-reviewed publications.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in crop or soil science or computer science
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with simulation models
Strong data analytics skills with an emphasis on spatial statistics
Experience in corn-soybean production systems
Documented experience in writing peer-review publications

1. Simulation analyses using the APSIM model to quantify corn and soybean yield response to management practices across a range of environments.
2. Assist the multi-disciplinary Iowa Nitrogen Initiative team in developing decision support tools.
3. Statistical analysis of experimental data from the Iowa Nitrogen Initiative
4. Development of peer-review publications
