Position Summary:
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant instructor. A part-time, or adjunct, faculty member is employed to provide direct instruction in either a classroom, lab, clinical/fieldwork, or distance education setting on a semester contract basis. The primary responsibility of part-time faculty is to provide quality instruction to students. Adjunct instructors are provided a contract for a single term only. Each contract ends at the end of the term, and a new contract will be provided if the adjunct faculty is hired for another term. An adjunct faculty member in the OTA program is under the management and supervision of the Program Chair/Director. Part-time, or adjunct, instructor is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and high academic standards.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree (OT).
- Experience with occupational therapy assistants
- Preference will be given to occupational therapy assistants or those with experience as an OTA who are now an OT.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- 1 year of teaching experience
- Experience as a fieldwork educator
