Position Summary:
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is looking for a part-time Food Service / Cafe Assistant who will provide a range of personal, academic, and career training and instructional services to facilitate the development of students of varying abilities entering and progressing through the College’s Food Service program. Assists in the overseeing and provides coaching to students in a Café setting.
Required Education/Experience:
- High Schoool Diploma or G.E.D.
- One year of professional experience
- ServSafe Certified, or the ability to become certified within 6 months of employment
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills, listening, writing, and speaking.
Intermediate skills with MS Office products
Student-focused, demonstrate initiative, and be able to manage change.
Excellent Customer Service skills, experience in a restaurant a plus.
Point-of-Sale Experience helpful, but not required.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, with the ability to lift up to 40 pounds intermittently.
Able to multi-task, troubleshoot problems, and create resolutions with minimum supervision

Duty and Responsibility:
Establish and maintain a coaching relationship with students in designated area, to provide academic coaching; communication with students to occur on a regular basis via face-to-face and possible distance interactions. Interactions will occur in both a classroom and café setting.
