Job Description
The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of General Manager, within Rohr’s. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives. As part of the event management role, the division is responsible for the planning and execution of a wide range of University events from Commencement to concerts and special events on football game weekends. The division is a major contributor of revenue to the University’s mission and employs the largest number of staff on campus with over 1,200 full-time, part-time, temporary, and on-call staff.

Why this position?
As a General Manager of Rohr’s, this position will be the responsible for all Rohr’s Front of House operations and will report directly to the F&B Director. The General Manager leads the restaurant’s team and operations in a manner that achieves success of the UEE Three North Stars: providing a distinctly Notre Dame experience for guests, elevated experience for our team members and maximizing the financial return to the University. The General Manager is responsible for the recruiting, training and developing of our current and new team members. This employee invests in an enriched culture for the team through employee engagement, creation of a joyful and inclusive culture, recognizes great work, and drives accountability. The General Manager will invest in the continued learning and development of the Rohr’s team with the implementation of food and beverage trainings, incentive upselling server programs and offering wine knowledge training. The General Manager will lead efforts for the restaurant to stay current on food, beverage, and overall hospitality trends that are consistent with the University of Notre Dame values. The General Manager will drive accountability to high degrees of hospitality during peak times, ultimately requiring integration and partnership between the FOH and BOH teams. In order to ensure a better return to to financial mission of the University, the General Manager must maintain and update software and new technologies that stretch the restaurant’s partnership further to the University community, ensure proper care of the facilities, provide a heightened food quality from the culinary team and foster virtual and third party engagement with the Director of Food and Beverage. The General Manager will manage, maintain and control costs and report on the financials monthly through proper forecasting and cost management.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- 7 or more years of experience in Food and Beverage supervision and/or management.
- Extensive knowledge of food, beverage and hospitality trends.
- Superior training, computer skills, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Serve both Guests and fellow Employees following Four Diamond service expectations.
- Follow work direction and perform tasks efficiently, accurately, and on a timely basis.
- Preserve the confidentiality and security of Guest information and belongings.
- Work as part of a team as well as work alone with limited direct supervision.
- Speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace and communicate effectively.
- Exercise good judgment and solve problems.
- Maintain emotional control and persevere in stressful situations.
