Job Summary
The Specialist II will need to perform intermediate level secretarial duties that could include: compiling and typing correspondence, reports, and minutes from written or dictated material; maintaining records and files, answering phones, taking messages, scheduling meetings, and dealing with parent students. They may also provide specific departmental information upon request. This is at South City Campus.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
The Specialist II will be able to manage office affairs and support the Child Care Director. Will need strong typing skills, customer service skills and need to be available for licensing support that may include some house cleaning responsibilities, as it is essential to strict licensing standards. Maintaining child records, immunization records, and licensing records are mandatory.
The Specialist II will support our accreditation process by reading criteria, examining evidence and documenting evidence via portfolios. Must have a friendly and professional demeanor, be detail oriented, and organized while also being flexible. Applicant should be comfortable with multi-tasking, and also able to respond to the needs of children, if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Must pass BCI Federal Background Check
Must speak and read English fluently.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and computer literate.
Applicant must pass a TB test.
Applicant must pass a be able to lift children, get on children’s level,
Applicant must pass a basic physical.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the Child Care Licensing and the Federal Food Program.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.

Work-study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work-Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work-study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work-study positions.
