Job Summary
To plan, organize, hire, schedule, manage, problem solve, train and supervise Parking Services operation. Supervise verification of all cashiering daily deposits to ensure accuracy in reporting of all cashiering in a multi-campus environment. Resolve complicated or difficult situations with students, faculty, and staff. Test and train all personnel authorized to use Utah Criminal Justice Information Service database. Help maintain a positive public image for Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) and the Parking Services department.
Work four (4) ten’s (10’s), Monday thru Thursday, 10 am to 8 pm.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Resolve difficult or complicated problems, work with irate students, and defuse volatile situations. Prepare and direct preparation of collection notices and reports regarding the status of outstanding balances from parking citations. Make decisions regarding special payment arrangements to assist students, staff, and customers. Maintain a positive public image for SLCC and the Parking Services department.
Review and make final decisions to parking appeals submitted to the Parking Services Department.
Supervise full and part time personnel in providing services for all parking operation including training, scheduling, disciplining and terminating staff. Responsible for one-on-one training of parking service employees on the NuPark Parking Software and operating system, cashiering, customer service, and parking regulations.
Run all unregistered vehicles thru the State Database to find current registered ownership of vehicles and verify State Handicap Placards. Confiscate all misused handicap placards and return them to the state.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of direct related full time experience.
- Must be certified with the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation Agency.
Tradeoff 1:1 in experience/education requirement.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to pass an extensive background check to become and maintain the Terminal Agency Coordinator certificate for the State of Utah, thru the Bureau of Criminal Identification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

Work Schedule is Monday thru Thursday, 10 am to 8 pm (4 10’s,).
