Essential Job Duties
The Science Communications Social Media intern will be responsible for assisting the Extension Communications staff in day-to-day management of content for the Plants for Human Health Institute and the NC Food Innovation Lab social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn). This position will be responsible for planning, creating, scheduling, posting and monitoring content (photos, text and video) for various social media projects such as Meet Our Scientists/Staff/Students/Visiting Scholars, Research Project Highlights, Extension Program Highlights, Community Engagement or newly identified campaigns. The intern will visit labs, interact with PHHI faculty and staff and assist with Extension community engagement events in order to develop engaging content that will increase PHHI and NCFIL brand awareness.
