Job Summary
Support and coordinate programming, logistics, reporting and administrative tasks for the Minority Business Center (MBC) office and staff. Manage client data and reporting requirements using the Salesforce Client Relationship Management (CRM) software system and database. Plan, coordinate and participate in the marketing, outreach, training and educational aspects of the MBC. Support staff functions related to client and strategic partner meetings and events. Research and manage procurement, funding, and strategic partner opportunities to assist client business growth. Participate in capacity building activities with other divisions at The Mill Entrepreneurship Center for MBC’s growth and development. Manage, prepare and deliver reports to the national grant sponsor, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA).
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct data analysis on the minority businesses in Utah and the region.
- Assist with presentations, education and awareness about the Minority Business Center to community partners and constituents.
- Prepare marketing and outreach materials to reach prospective clients.
- Research local and national grant and procurement databases and maintain ongoing lists of bid opportunities.
- Prepare monthly grant benchmark update reports to staff.
- Attend outreach and sponsored events, conferences, summits, and meetings.
- Present the Minority Business Center to chambers, professional associations, and minority organizations.
- Attend national training as required.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Assist with strategic direction for program expansion.
- Coordinate quarterly MBC networking events, speaker series, online information sessions, and other public meetings as necessary.
- Assist with client relationships and engagement with the MBC.
- Seek opportunities to educate and attract new clients to the MBC and manage lead lists.
- Manage a database of resource partners, strategic alliance partners and capital resource partners such as commercial banks, loan programs, private equity, angel investors, and other capital loan programs.
- Research and track business opportunities for grants, access to capital, procurement contracts, etc., for staff to present to clients.
- Track MBDA activity and opportunities.
- Develop and track new lead sources.
- Manage and maintain Salesforce CRM system, system upgrades, new applications, and provide ongoing CRM support to staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Four (4) to six (years) of related experience.
Trade off 2:1 in experience/education requirement.
Part time experience may be considered on a prorated basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce CRM software and data management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Administrative and program management experience.
- Salesforce CRM experience or similar system.
- Ability to problem solve proactively.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
