Poole College of Management has four academic departments: Accounting, Business Management, Economics and Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. Essential Job Duties
Primary responsibilities for this full-time, non-tenure-track position are teaching Business Analytics courses in both undergraduate and masters programs. This position will also be engaged with our student practicum and will participate in creating opportunities for students to engage with industry.
The candidate is expected to teach various analytics courses. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach at both the undergraduate and MBA level using both face to face and online delivery methods. Candidates will also have a commitment to academic excellence, and help champion a culture of belonging and well-being for our students.
Title and compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience and credentials.
Professors of Practice typically teach three class sections (9 credit hours) per semester (1-2 sections for each course) and build relationships with industry partners to create experience-based learning opportunities for our students. These industry relationships would help create or expand engagement opportunities through practicum projects, student clubs and extra-curricular activities, executive education programs, and alumni connections, among other possibilities. Candidates must also be contributing faculty members to department and college service activities.
Start date for the position is August 15, 2023.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires doctor’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.
- Professors of Practice must have at least five years of practical analytics experience in industry.
Other Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of analytics tools and techniques used by businesses, as well as decision
making with analytics. - Experience in analytics related positions in private or public organizations.
- Demonstrated teaching interest and ability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of high-quality university-level teaching in Business Analytics through, for example, teaching evaluations and letters of recommendation.
- Evidence of engaging with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Statement or other evidence of a commitment to academic excellence.
- Teaching experience or professional experience in analytics, in addition to other criteria as established by departmental rules.
- PhD or DBA in analytics or related field.
