Position Summary:
The Webmaster/Digital Media Specialist is a vital part of the Department of Marketing & Communications team. The role will focus primarily on new content development and project management in support of the College’s online presence. This person will work diligently in a team-oriented, student-centric environment to deliver high-quality, relevant content, resources and experiences online, while embracing the mission and values of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in web design, marketing, graphic design or a related field and two (2) years of experience in area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- Proficient in standard web design practices
- Proficient in WordPress hosted sites
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Detail oriented with ability to work on multiple projects
- Experience in creating graphics to be used across a variety of platforms, including, print, social media, web

Duty and Responsibility:
Responsible for College’s online presence and daily monitoring and management of online presence.
Duty and Responsibility:
Perform a variety of kinds of content development and writing for digital dissemination, including the development and dissemination of the weekly internal newsletter.

Develop and maintain online presence for all of the College’s many audiences including prospective students, current students, alumni, donors, parents, and community members.

Enhance awareness of the College and its brand within the digital space, as well as driving website traffic.

Use strong project management skills to create and maintain the College’s online presence including external websites, internal website, social media, online advertising, SEM (search engine marketing), CRO (conversion rate optimization), SEO (search engine optimization), PPC (pay-per click), geofencing and retargeting.

Provide photography coverage of events as needed and support other College marketing and communications events and efforts as assigned.

Collaborate with the Division of Information Technology Services and external vendors to ensure website traffic and functionality can be tracked, monitored and optimized for audience engagement.
