Job Description
Summary
The Research Administration office at the College of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated, ambitious and experienced assistant to work closely and proactively with the college’s Associate Dean for Research and the Senior Research Administration Manager to provide high-level general assistance for day-to-day research operations. The incumbent in this position will interact with internal and external stakeholders, including principal investigators, study teams, service units, and sponsors.
Responsibilities*
Grant Administrative Activities
- Research & prepare weekly announcements for funding opportunities.
- Develop & maintain boiler plate documents for grant applications.
- Coordinate cost share for internal grants.
- Serve as a liaison to Michigan’s expert group.
- Create & maintain electronic files and databases.
- Other grant administration activities as needed.
Research Initiative Activities
- Support the College of Pharmacy’s research initiative programs.
- Pharmacy PRO, Pharmacy FCC, Pharmacy PSC
- Schedule meetings and seminars for programs.
- Design program flyers and develop consistent announcements for upcoming program activities.
- Manage the program’s official social media platforms (i.e. Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- Other general office duties including arranging travel, organizing retreats, meetings, and symposiums.
- Participate in continuous process improvement efforts for research administration.
Required Qualifications*
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 1-3 years of progressive experience in research administration
- Experience working in a fast paced environment.
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
- Eagerness to learn and ability to adapt to changing needs.
- Ability to multitask and work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems with ability to follow unit specific procedures
