The Hogg Lab within the Biochemistry and Biophysics Center (BBC) at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to explore the biochemistry and cell biology of the nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) pathway. We investigate how RNA-protein complexes are built and destroyed at levels spanning from single molecules to whole transcriptomes. This position offers the opportunity for postdoctoral fellows to develop independent research programs with the scientific and career development support of the Hogg laboratory, the BBC, and the resources of the NIH Intramural Research Program. This includes:
Candidates are encouraged to propose innovative and ambitious research projects that take advantage of the Hogg Lab’s expertise in RNA biology and the resources of the NIH Intramural Program. Candidates with experience in bioinformatics, high-throughput sequencing, or RNA biochemistry are particularly encouraged to apply.
To apply, please email CV, summary of research interests, and the names of three references to J. Robert Hogg (j.hogg@nih.gov ).
The NIH is dedicated to building a community in its training and employment programs and encourages the application and nomination of qualified women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities.
