Summary of Position
The Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of New Hampshire invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty, open rank, position to begin August, 2023. The position has a 9-month academic year appointment. Candidates with a strong foundation in occupational science, and a defined research program are encouraged to apply. The Department actively promotes a scholarly, enriching environment in which faculty integrate their research activities with teaching and service. The Department of Occupational Therapy is housed in the College of Health and Human Services within a R-1 research-high, liberal arts, land grant institution. UNH provides a dynamic learning environment in which qualified individuals of differing perspectives and cultural backgrounds pursue academic goals with mutual respect and shared inquiry. The Department of Occupational Therapy offers a BS/MS OT track, a new Entry-level OTD track, and will be offering a BS OTA program scheduled to launch in 2024.
Teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework in programs that award a BS in Occupational Science, an MS in Occupational Therapy, and OTD in Occupational Therapy. The teaching load expectation is 4 courses per academic year but is flexible depending upon external funding supporting the faculty’s research.
Implementing a defined program of research with ongoing dissemination;
Student academic advising and service activities within the Department, University, community, and occupational therapy profession.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
1. A PhD or research doctorate in occupational therapy or related field
2. A defined program of scholarship with at least one refereed publication in process
3. At least 3 years of clinical or community-based OT practice experience
4. Eligibility for NBCOT certification and NH state OT licensure
Additional Preferred Qualifications
1. OT practice expertise preferably in the area of geriatrics or adult mental health.
2. Preference for candidates with teaching and research experience in higher education. Post-doctoral experience is desirable with more than one refereed publication.
3. Expertise in the areas of telehealth, biostatistics, and/or inter- and intra-professional collaborations, supporting doctoral level capstone experiences.
4. Candidates who embrace a strong occupation-focused philosophy are preferred.
