Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The University of Maryland, Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education seeks to fill an assistant clinical professor position in its school counseling specialty to begin Fall of 2023.
We seek candidates who have teaching and professional experience in K-12 school settings. Position responsibilities include teaching six in-person school counseling evening courses per school year, academic advising for master’s students, and other duties as assigned. Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred, as is a passion for and experience in teaching in higher education and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Faculty will be expected to infuse multicultural, social justice, and advocacy competencies throughout all courses in the curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s or doctorate in School Counseling or related K-12 focused field (required).
Experience:
- Training and professional experiences appropriate to teach applied courses in the master’s level school counseling program (required).
- Professional experience as a school counselor, supervisor, or director (required).
