The Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR) at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated full-time research assistant with experience in conducting human subject research. The research assistant will primarily work on an NIH-funded clinical trial to motivate cessation of tobacco smoking in dental patients using digital health technology. Duties will involve recruiting, screening, and enrolling study participants, conducting the clinic-based intervention with participants, data tracking and management, preparation of reports, communicating with technology partners, and general office tasks. Some study activities will be completed remotely. The position may also help coordinate research team and stakeholder meetings. The research assistant will join a growing dynamic group of health psychologists and behavioral medicine experts, research staff and postdoctoral associates working on several ongoing projects, and will be afforded the opportunity for professional development. The ideal candidate will possess a BA or BS degree in psychology, public health or related social science field plus 1-3 years of research experience working with human subjects, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a strong interest in the application of mobile technology to improve population health. Previous experience using mobile or electronic health for behavior change is preferred but not required.
