ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, EVENTS, Alumni Association, to plan, implement, and evaluate a wide variety of events. Will develop strategic plans for in-person and virtual events and manage their tactical and logistical details, e.g., event budgets, collateral, venues, etc. The position involves management from conceptualization through evaluation of a wide variety of events, ranging from small volunteer dinners to large events for hundreds of alumni; interaction with senior officers, volunteer leaders, and major donors and prospects; and close collaboration with Alumni Association staff, vendors, and service providers. Will also provide event planning services for colleagues within the Alumni Association.
Job Requirements:REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; three years’ events planning or project/program management experience, including managing virtual and hybrid events; experience supervising volunteers and vendors; meticulous attention to detail; excellent interpersonal, customer service, problem-solving, planning, time management, project management, analytical, presentation, and written and oral communication skills; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and FileMaker; expertise with or willingness to learn Encompass suite of online event tools; tact and good judgment with confidential information; and a flexible approach to the work environment. Seek a self-starter who can take initiative and anticipate consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change; work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team in a diverse, service-oriented setting; execute all aspects of virtual and live programs/events; develop and manage project timelines and budgets; and independently organize, prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously under pressure in a fast-paced and ever-evolving work environment.
