This position will be centered around managing blood and tissue collected from patients with aggressive malignancies. This includes deidentifying, preprocessing, and delivering the samples to the proper lab. The employee have the opportunity to work with multiple departments such as gastroenterology, surgery, interventional radiology, clinics, and research labs to aid in the successful collection and pre-processing of specimens. Patient data collection will be completed in Microsoft Excel and pulled from electronic health record systems such as MiChart. Data collection will describe patient therapy status at sample collection times, as well as supporting retrospective patient databases.
• Working 10+ hours a week in-person at the hospital in groupings of 3+ hours
• Drive to learn and take ownership of responsibilities
• Transportation to and from the hospital as needed
• Computer skills or ability to learn programs quickly/thoroughly (Microsoft Excel, MiChart)
• Strong attention to detail
