In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Job Description:

The Health Studies Program is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to co-teach the following class: Practicum in Healthcare. This course requires that students complete 120 hours of internship over one semester and is designed to offer students a comprehensive understanding of work practices in a community health or social service setting. The candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing targeted instruction in essential job readiness skills
• Providing curriculum materials for career development

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess the following:

• A Master's degree in education or health-related field
• 1 year of teaching experience
• Expertise in teaching career readiness

All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least 1 year of teaching experience, Blackboard/Brightspace experience and 5+ years actively working in the career development field is strongly preferred.

POSITION EFFECTIVE:  Fall 2022

SALARY & BENEFITS: $82.57 per hour. No benefits.
