Job Summary
Maintain Salt Lake Community College grounds to ensure they are safe and well kept.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Work on various grounds keeping skills i.e.; Lawn mowing, edging, trimming, irrigation tasks, tree maintenance, pruning, and garden maintenance.
Ability to follow instructions, operate power equipment, use hand tools, work in outside conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience helpful but not necessary if willing to be trained in maintenance procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be willing to work hard, take pride and ownership of work, and work well with others.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Able to do moderate lifting up to 50 lbs. Physical activity involves bending, stooping, climbing etc.
Ability to follow instructions and perform manual labor i.e.; weed pulling, pruning, turf mowing tasks, operate equipment safely, repair irrigation systems (heads, valves, pipe).
Must take low speed vehicle training offered at SLCC.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.

Summer work hours – Up to 40 hours per week– Schedule can vary. Work hours are between 6am-4:30pm.
Seasonal Groundskeeper positions open for temporary/seasonal work, typically available for the months of April through September.
Any full-time temporary seasonal employment with the college would restrict part-time employment with SLCC for a period of one year,, This one year period would start from the end of full-time temporary seasonal employment.
