Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works with the Director and Manager of Student Affairs Communication Programs to develop and support broad-based communications strategies and content creation with a focus on internal and external communications for Student Affairs employees and new, prospective and current students.
Develops, coordinates, writes, and distributes a range of communications to increase awareness among all students and prospects about college support services and resources.
Plans, writes, and manages text messaging content for prospective and current students.
Partners with the Student Affairs Communication leadership to create and maintain necessary communication and content updates for Student Affairs communication platforms to engage prospects, current students, and their family members.
Assesses communications processes for effectiveness and develops informed solutions with a focus on data-driven student outreach.
Performs analysis of as-is processes, evaluates alternate process design options, reviews and tests process steps, and makes recommendations for change based on various frameworks.
Works to conceptualize, write, and edit copy for a variety of integrated communication campaigns and supporting collateral including brochures, fliers, emails, web pages, presentations, social media promotions, and direct mail.
Ensures all messaging adheres to highest grammar and writing standards and reflects the college's culture, tone, and external messaging.
Assists departments with writing, editing, and distributing information on events, services, programs, initiatives, and procedures to internal and external audiences.
Develops and manages relationships with key internal stakeholders, executives, and department leaders to ensure effective and relevant communications for students.
Provides creative guidance and project management support to all departments within Student Affairs and other departments when requested.
Assists Student Affairs leadership with developing, writing, and editing executive summaries, presentations, and high-priority publications.
Promotes Student Affairs strategic plan goals and priorities.
Stays attuned to the feedback of frontline staff and alerts the communications team of opportunities and concerns to be addressed for students.
Contributes to the development of student affairs marketing collateral including effective multicultural copy for web pages and campaign pieces.
Stays current on emerging communications technologies, content management, and industry best practices.
Support technology needs for training sessions, workshops, presentations, and leadership development opportunities through the Division of Student Affairs.

Full-time faculty and staffing table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the college are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.
ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty and Administrators Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by federal law.
