Junior Specialist – Wang Lab
The Wang Lab in the Cardiovascular Research Institute at University of California, San Francisco is seeking for a Junior Specialist.
Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
• Specialists appointed at the junior rank must possess (or in process of obtaining) a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience.
• Applicants must have obtained the degree requirement for the Specialist rank by the time of hire.
• Ability to perform complex tasks without committing errors.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow basic laboratory protocols with minor supervision.
• Ability to work with other people in a team setting.
• Must be capable of working independently after obtaining proper training and demonstrate good judgment.
• Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Practical experience with experimental animals such as mice and rats is preferred.
Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicants experience and training.
