Advertised Job Summary | In the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Post-Doctoral Fellow will investigate catalyst-electrode structures for anion exchange membrane electrolyzers. The overarching goal of the work is to enable, for the first time, electrolyzers that have high performance and excellent longevity. These goals are important target points in the research grant and meeting these goals will push technology forward while ensuring opportunities for future funding. |

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) | PhD with a thesis focus on electrochemical engineering related work prior to hire date. Previous experience in the assembly and testing of membrane electrode assemblies |
Preferred Qualifications | Previous experience with catalyst synthesis and evaluation Previous experience in polymer synthesis Previous experience with the synthesis of Pt-group metal free catalysts |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English. Materials characterization techniques – SEM, TEM, XRD, etc. Electrochemical data collection and analysis – deconvoluting polarization curves, voltammetry, rotating disk electrode, EIS, etc. |
