JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: CEO, RECOVERY BEYOND

Recovery Beyond (https://recoverybp.org/) a Seattle-based 501(C)3 organization, is transitioning from a volunteer-led organization to a professionally led and scalable organization pursuing ambitious goals to foster healthy, sober living. Since 2011, Recovery Beyond has been piloting a new approach to enhance and support addiction recovery programs, one that has posted sobriety rates more than double the current national average—a program with true potential to help solve the enormous challenge of substance use disorder that affects us all.
Recovery Beyond is an ambitious organization with encouraging results, including publicity by major companies such as REI, whose video feature of our work reached over 1 million. As media coverage and awareness of our healthy lifestyle support program grows, we seek to grow our organization and extend our program’s benefits to increasing numbers of individuals seeking help to maintain a healthy, sober lifestyle filled with joyful, fun activity and a supportive community.
Summary
Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for overall management and operation of Recovery Beyond and protection of the organization’s financial assets, while ensuring compliance with Board directives and applicable grantor, federal, and state legal and financial reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
The CEO is responsible for overall program development and implementation, operations, fundraising, staffing, marketing, and public relations for Recovery Beyond, a Washington State registered charitable organization and designated 501(c)(3) non-profit private research and education corporation, providing guided activity and community support to individuals in addiction treatment programs.

Education and/or Experience
An undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year institution is required; an advanced degree is preferable. The Board seeks candidates with demonstrated management, leadership, and fundraising ability; a successful track record of leading and growing an organization is preferred.
Three years+ experience with nonprofit leadership, board governance, individual and corporate fundraising, business strategy, team building, organizational development and performance enhancement.

Physical Demands
The CEO is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear. The position requires extensive computer use, and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Travel
The CEO must be able to travel to attend conferences, trainings, and other events as required to acquire and maintain proficiency in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.
Compensation
$75K and benefits to start, with substantial opportunity for increases in compensation with successful performance.
