School: Harvard School of Dental Medicine Department/Area: Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity Position Description: Kota Laboratory at Harvard School of Dental Medicine Kota Laboratory at Harvard School of Dental Medicine is seeking a motivated postdoctoral candidate to study allelic gene expression and epigenetic regulation of skeletal diseases. Projects will be focused on understanding the regulation of gene expression in ES cells, MSCs and mouse models of skeletal diseases. Successful candidate under the direction of the principal investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments using molecular, cell biology, biochemistry techniques. Successful candidates will have a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry. Experience and knowledge in ES cell culture, molecular biology techniques commonly employed in RNA, chromatin analysis, protein biochemistry, RNA-seq, Chip-seq , NGS data analysis and mouse genetics are preferred. The candidate will be expected to work independently and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position is granted funded and appointed on an annual basis. Basic Qualifications: PhD (or about to be awarded) in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry or a relevant field. Additional Qualifications: Relevant background and demonstrated ability in Cell biology techniques (including culture, maintenance of primary cells, transient and stable transfection etc), Molecular biological techniques (DNA/RNA, protein extraction and purification, standard and quantitative PCR, western blot etc) along with experience in mouse colony management is required. Successful candidate will be expected to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously and must have excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
