The candidate will investigate the roles of host cell proteins in controlling infection of Ebola virus and other emerging infectious disease agents that include SARS-COV-2. Strong molecular virology skills are required with experience working with pseudotyped viruses as well as CRISPR screening techniques for identification and analysis of host factors of interest. Experience using small molecule inhibitors of protein function and application to understanding mechanistic work as well as immunoprecipitation and protein analysis approaches are needed. Interest in training for work at high biocontainment is desirable |
