This position is in the Department of Ob/Gyn.  This position is for the Medical School Campus.

A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Dineo Khabele’s laboratory at Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Khabele’s research laboratory uses a bi-directional translational research approach to develop novel drug combinations to treat ovarian cancer. Her lab group uses de-identified clinically annotated tissue samples and patient-derived xenograft models to validate molecular biomarkers and confirm mechanistic results for further testing in the clinic.

Successful applicant will utilize established cell-based and mouse models, functional genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics to investigate the following focus areas:

• Epigenetic drug regimens for treating chemotherapy-resistant ovarian cancer.
• Targeting macrophages in the ovarian tumor microenvironment.

• Ph.D., M.D. or an equivalent terminal or doctoral degree. 
• Experience with designing, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data.
• Experience with reading and understanding scientific papers and applying these concepts to experimental design.

• Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques, including DNA, RNA, protein isolation; PCR, reverse transcription PCR, Immunoblot, and ELISA.
• Experience with immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and experience working with frozen and paraffin embedded tissue.
• Experience with mouse models of cancer.
• Ability to write manuscripts and contribute to grant applications.
• Clear interest in ovarian cancer translational research is strongly preferred.
• Strong background in cell and molecular biology.
• Strong experience with handling and using rodent models.

Base pay commensurate with experience.
