Position Title

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this part-time position. The ability to effectively evaluate loan applicant files and determine financial aid eligibility is critical to experiencing success in this position. Expertise in and knowledge of student financial aid programs are essential to this position. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

Duties

The successful candidate will:

Verify and analyze account information.

Participate in researching complex problems and discrepancies in students’ records.

Interpret and explain College polices and procedures relating to financial aid.

Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.

Process financial aid awards, input data, assign account codes, make entries of adjustment, and balance assigned funds and accounts.

Provide financial aid and loan counseling support to students.

Prepare financial aid reports related to assigned area of responsibility.

Answer questions, advise, and coordinate with other departments regarding financial aid awards, activities, transactions, and related policies and procedures.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting or a closely related field with two years of increasingly responsible general clerical experience including one year of clerical accounting or related experience. Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Preferred Requirements

Experience with Datatel (Colleague) is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in either Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
