General Description
The Director of Admissions and Registrar directs, manages, and supervises all functions within the Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) Office of Admissions and Registration (OAR). This includes, but is not limited to: oversight of all admissions and registration policies and processes; management of OAR personnel; official certification of student records; student data management and analysis; implementation of college, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, management, student services, or a related area, with a Master’s degree preferred. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of full-time work experience in admissions and registration, higher education administration, student services, or data management, with three (3) years of supervisory/management experience of full-time personnel and budget authority. This position requires the ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations and develop, implement, and maintain effective policies and procedures related to student admissions and registration. This position requires an advanced knowledge of student information systems, with experience with Banner and Access preferred. Experience with data management and analysis is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with others to build a positive team atmosphere with a commitment to superior customer service and student support. A criminal background check is required.
