Job Summary
The postdoctoral researcher will train in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology to model the various transitional states of the protein pfATP4. He/she will also perform molecular docking and simulation studies to understand the structure-activity relationship between pfATP4 and the 13 different chemotypes that bind to it. He/she will work with MMV partners to develop additional analogs and develop databases of small molecules for screening against additional malaria targets.
Essential Functions
We are looking for talented postdocs to join our team in developing and applying state of the art molecular modeling and machine learning tools for deciphering structure-function of proteins and protein-ligand interactions; structure based/ ligand based screening of combinatorial libraries; QSAR and rational lead optimization to a variety of molecular targets. The position is funded by NIH and offers a vibrant interdisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in computational chemistry / chemistry/ biophysics/ Pharmacology/ bioinformatics/ computer sciences / chemical engineering or a related field
