The Building Construction Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students by ensuring student satisfaction through the classroom and/or laboratory setting according to program objectives. |
Specific Position Duties | Teach students basic to advance level construction and carpentry objectives. Develop lesson plans based from course objectives. Grade and assess students on practical experience and from post and pre-training Instruction in a construction science environment class and labs Organize and present prepared instructional materials at scheduled times and places Maintain communications with students and colleagues to assure efficient and effective instruction Maintain records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others |
Minimum Qualifications | Must have 3 years’ experience in related field on instruction. Minimum of an associate’s degree OR approved alternate certifications & training and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a building/construction-related field or industry Field experience and education in blueprint reading, roofing, floor, wall systems Experience in HVAC and plumbing |
