Assistant Research Professor, Non-Tenure Track
Job Description
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM) is seeking an outstanding candidate for an Assistant Research Professor (Non-Tenure Track) position. The Assistant Research Professor will conduct a broad range of studies on calcium and bone metabolism and parathyroid hormone (PTH) function. In particular, the Assistant Research Professor will conduct studies to better understand the role of Protein Kinase A, in osteoblasts and in osteoclasts, in pathological and physiological situations, using mouse models. This study, in the long term, will provide pre-clinical data to identify new therapeutic targets to treat osteoporosis or pathologies caused by hyperactivity of the PTHR1/PKA pathway in osteoblasts such as hyperparathyroidism, Jansen’s metaphyseal chondrodysplasia or Fibrous Dysplasia/McCune-Albright syndrome.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D. degree in Cellular and Molecular Pathophysiology or related discipline required, with a minimum of 10 years of academic research experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. degree in Cellular and Molecular Pathophysiology or related discipline, and show outstanding evidence of research with a successful track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals commensurate with rank. Candidates who have laboratory experience in bone physiology and biochemistry are preferred. Candidates who have held Investigator or Co-investigator status on sponsored research awards are preferred.
