Role: Senior Geospatial Developer - Precision Agriculture

Role Summary:

As an experienced, creative, Senior Geospatial Developer with proven technical skills and a consultative mindset, you will focus on designing, developing, and implementing complex technical solutions and helping to set future directions in a changing GIS technology world. If you are selected for this role, you will be surrounded by Geospatial Professionals in one of the largest Geospatial Companies in the Industry. You will be on a team that leverages agile development best practices to support product development of an enterprise system/application in the field of precision agriculture.

Work Environment:

Location is flexible: NV5 Geospatial Headquarters, Regional offices, or work from home considered
• Travel up to 15% of the time

• Crafting and developing customized web applications
• Developing custom routines, viewers, and/or databases
• Application design, development and collaboration in a distributed team environment using source control
• Development and implementation of test plans and automated test scripts
• Developing and applying service orientated architectures to enterprise solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Geography/GIS, Engineering or related field*
• 5+ years' experience as a software developer**

Experience Preferred (in addition to requirements):

• Demonstrated experience developing geospatial applications
• Application documentation including system design and technical specifications
• MCPD and/or Esri technical certifications
• Experience developing in a team

Competencies and Skills:

• A real passion for working with teammates and customers to solve problems

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines

• Ability to work in a high-tempo environment

• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS

• Experience with Angular, REACT, C#, VB.NET, and Python

• Experience with Spatial Databases

• Experience with AWS Lambdas and possibly other AWS services

• Knowledge of internet architectures and technologies

• Knowledge of geospatial concepts

• Familiarity with standard software development protocols and coding standards

• Application documentation including system design and technical specifications

• Development of custom geospatial solutions
