Department/Organization: 204711 - Psychology


Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm


Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, the Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.


Additional Department Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct diagnostic and psychological evaluations with children and adolescents presenting for concerns of Autism Spectrum and related disorders. Evaluations will be completed in the clinic and in the school setting. They will maintain a caseload of individual and family therapy clients and help to facilitate family support programming such as parent support and psychoeducation groups, sibling support groups, etc. All clinical activities will be conducted under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist, and the fellow will also act as a supervisor for graduate student trainees. Additionally, the fellow will serve as a clinician in a federally funded clinical research trial examining the efficacy of a mindfulness intervention for adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology or related field.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Experience working with children and adolescents. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience administering standardized cognitive and diagnostic assessments (e.g., ADOS-G). Experience working with individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Experience writing integrative reports.
