Job Description Summary

The Director of Information Technology (IT) Security Services will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise cyber security and IT risk management program. The Director, IT Security Services will provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage the risk to the organization and will ensure business alignment, effective governance, system and product availability, integrity and confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in cybersecurity, information management, information technology, computer science, engineering, business management, or related field.
2. Six years of progressively responsible management and/or leadership experience in information security or network administration that includes two years of supervisory experience. Experience with an institution of higher education is preferred.
3. Professional certification or equivalent in information security, preferably in CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM/A (Certified Information Security Manager/Auditor), CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA),

Criteria

The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. Other information and observations made during the interview process may be considered in the selection process. Please ensure that your documents address the criteria listed below for this position.

1. Experience developing, maintaining, and implementing an Information Security Program (ISP) including policy and strategy development, preferably in higher education.
2. Experience addressing information security related issues involving identity and access management, intrusion detection, forensics, incident management, risk management and/or auditing.
3. Experience evaluating and providing guidance on information security software and hardware acquisitions, IT services, cloud-based solutions, and mobility.
4. Knowledge of security assessment and testing tools.
5. Experience with developing and managing an information security awareness and training program.
6. Experience with information security and compliance related issues (e.g. FERPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GLBA, copyright and software piracy).
7. Experience in managing and negotiating vendor contracts and agreements.
8. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and oral presentations.

Job Requirements

1. Applicant must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
   The work schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the department.
2. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
3. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. Citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
