The College of Business at the University of Rhode Island is seeking applicants for a full-time Lecturer in Business Analytics and Intelligence (non-tenure track) beginning Fall of 2020. The URI College of Business holds accreditation from the AACSB and offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in the business disciplines.
Responsibilities:
This position will require teaching four (4) courses per semester plus service. The successful applicant will have both academic and industry experience and is expected to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate in Business Analytics and Intelligence (data management, business statistics & mathematics) and business analytics application (including Excel, R, Python, or SPSS), and potentially other areas and across the BAI curriculum.
Qualifications
Required:
1. An earned MBA (by start date, August 2020) from an AACSB-accredited business school, or a master’s degree in a related field with similar accreditation.
2. Demonstrated experience teaching classes at the undergraduate and/or graduate level across the BAI curriculum.
3. Demonstrated experience teaching classes at the undergraduate and/or graduate level across the BAI curriculum with positive student/peer reviews.
4. Demonstrated excellence with student outcomes.
5. Demonstrated proficiency with a Learning Management System.
6. Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and oral communication skills.
7. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
9. Demonstrated experience or familiarity with entrepreneurship and innovation.
10. Willingness to participate in service activities (for example, at the college, university, and/or professional levels, including work with the state and business communities).
Preferred:
1. An earned PhD in a MIS/BAI discipline from an AACSB-accredited Business School, or a doctorate in a related and relevant field.
2. Demonstrated experience teaching in a variety of delivery methods such as classroom, blended, online, or project-based.
3. Three or more years of professional work experience, which may include business ownership and entrepreneurship; consulting; leadership positions in business, government, nonprofit, or military settings, etc.
4. Consulting or facilitation experience in business analytics and artificial intelligence in for-profit, nonprofit, and/or government settings.
5. Demonstrated college-level, university, and/or academy service (such as serving as advisor to student clubs, organizing career development workshops for students, or mentoring undergraduate and graduate students).
