The Dean is the academic and administrative leader and officer for the School of Education and reports directly to the Provost.

Demonstrated leadership and management skills including a minimum of three (3) years as a Department Chair, Director or Administrator in an accredited program; experience in curricular development, strategic planning, assessment, program maintenance, budgeting and shared governance. Successful experience with accreditation procedures and processes is preferred.
Currently:
An earned doctorate,stitution, in education or appropriate field; a strong record of teaching, scholarship, and service to permit a faculty appointment at the rank of professor; at least ten (10) years of experience as a faculty member in a comprehensive university, successful experience in university community relations; administrative experience at the departmental chair level or above; demonstrated administrative experiences in preparing for NCATE accreditation; experience establishing and directing graduate programs at outreach centers.

Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, reach, talk, and hear. Work environment: The noise level in the work environment will likely be moderate.

Managing all personnel issues within the School; recruiting and hiring faculty in accordance with the administrative and faculty policies of the university; travel between both campuses; lead the School’s effort towards accreditation; develop collaborative relationships with external community to support experiential and service learning related to the curriculum; establish vision and mission statements, goals and objective that create a master plan for the School that furthers the University’s Strategic Plan.
