Who We Are
New Endeavors By Women is a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC partnering with women experiencing homelessness to create new futures. NEW provides housing and supportive services so each woman can achieve her financial, health, educational, and personal goals. The Development and Communications Team is responsible for sharing NEW’s story in the community and securing government and private funding.

New Endeavors By Women seeks a motivated and creative Development and Communications
Manager. This role will work closely with our Director of Development and Communications to support our various fundraising and outreach efforts. This position will be 80% remote, with one to two days per week on-site at our office in Washington, DC, and occasional in-person meetings and events.

Your Responsibilities
● Donor Stewardship

  • Managing NEW’s donor database through Little Green Light
  • Composing and sending fundraising solicitations and update emails to supporters
  • Utilizing Little Green Light to pull donor reports, including gap-to-goal and lapsed donor reports
  • Responding to donor correspondence
  • Managing two major individual giving campaigns annually alongside smaller targeted campaigns
  • Coordinating meetings between donors and NEW’s leadership staff
  • Processing all incoming gifts

● External Relations

  • Coordinating with NEW staff, designers, and print shops to create and mail newsletters and solicitation letters
  • Collaborating on press releases
  • Maintaining a story bank of testimonials, videos, and photos of clients and staff members
  • Regularly updating NEW’s website using Squarespace

● Social Media

  • Posting regularly on multiple social platforms
  • Reporting on social media metrics, including follower growth and engagement
  • Establishing a social media calendar

● Event Management

  • Managing the execution of NEW’s annual fundraiser with assistance from the

Development and Communications team

  • Coordinating smaller events throughout the year to engage supporters

● Volunteer Coordination

  • Serving as the point of contact for volunteer opportunities
  • Coordinating volunteer activities with interested groups and NEW’s program and facilities teams
  • Maintaining relationships with regular volunteers and assisting with stewarding volunteers into donors

About You

Desired Skills and Experience
● 2-5 years of development or nonprofit experience
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Experience with donor stewardship tools, including database software, Canva, and mass email programs
● Thorough knowledge of social media platforms
● Event management experience
● Expertise in Microsoft’s Office Suite, including Excel

Benefits and Compensation

● Salary will be commensurate with experience, with an expected salary of $75,000-$79,000
● 80% remote work

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Washington, DC 20001: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Fundraising: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office: 2 years (Preferred)
