SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech), located 15 miles northeast of Seattle, is the only public institute of technology in Washington state and has provided high quality education since 1949. 
We offer 8 applied bachelor's degrees, 43 associate degrees and 91 professional certificates in 42 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. LWTech is located within the city of Kirkland, which is home to companies such as GoDaddy, Google, Astronics and EvergreenHealth, and the college is within minutes from Microsoft and Nintendo. LWTech was recognized by the Aspen Institute as one of the top 150 two-year colleges in the nation in 2018 and is proud to be a Military Friendly School.

Perform a variety of technical and office support duties within the enrollment services office. Maintain data and develop reports using the student information management system, registration systems, desktop software applications, and other computer based tools. Apply knowledge of modern office procedures and systems to provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Work is performed under general supervision. This position reports to the director of enrollment services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support technology based office initiatives such as monitoring online services, processing electronic forms, inputting data in the student information management system, using shared electronic files, etc.
  • Coordinate and schedule established office and system reports; create ad hoc reports as needed; collect, select, classify, and compile data from multiple sources and make summary reports as required; assist in data analysis and reporting trends
  • Process records requests including transcripts, academic records, and other official files
  • Receive, evaluate, and process applications and transcripts for incoming and graduating students including verification of requirements and prerequisites with responsibility for specific college programs
  • Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, chat, and in person
  • Add, drop, and withdraw students from classes; perform registration activities at the office counter and online using appropriate technology
  • Perform a variety of activities associated with office operations requiring initiative and independent judgment such as verifying enrollment in response to requests from funding agencies and loan processing agencies, researching unpaid enrollment, and responding to student requests
  • Input grades using the student information management system for end of the quarter grading
  • Initiate routine correspondence, reports, and other similar matters as required
  • Assist with development of office procedures; maintain written record of office procedures
  • Regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality
  • Other related job duties as assigned
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college-level coursework preferred
  • Two years' experience in office support position required; experience in a college setting preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate in a courteous, helpful, and clearly understood manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize time and duties efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion in contacts with students, staff, and vendors
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as knowledge of office equipment and online environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student (or client) population

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

Salary range is $2,892-$3,250 per month DOQ; salary placement for current classified employees is per the classified bargained agreement. This position works 40 hours per week. Medical, dental and insurance benefits are provided as currently administered under Public Employees Benefits Board; State Retirement Plan; vacation and sick leave begin to accrue at the rate of 1 prorated day per month, dependent on percent of full-time, effective upon employment. This is a union-covered position.
