POSITION: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
(CCP-18, 12-month, tenure track position).
ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: Fall 2019
Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance or a related area and one to four years of experience working in a Fiscal or Business Office.
Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following areas: Budget management; General accounting; Finance Office operations; Database reporting tools including Excel and Web Focus; Information technology literacy skills, including Microsoft Office; Oral and written communication skills; Staff supervision.

Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons.
Extensive knowledge of the Banner financial accounting system, CORE CT and other database analytic software such as Web Focus; knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures; experience developing contracts; experience developing and implementing policies and procedures, experience working with state agencies and other external organizations; and experience supervising staff are highly desirable.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community, including the demonstrated ability to respond to and work with diverse and varied student populations.
Experience managing within a complex organizational structure; experience developing organizational budgets; ability to analyze and consolidate financial information in Excel; and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles are essential.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills.
A demonstrated understanding of the mission of the community college.
Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administrative Services, the Associate Director is accountable for the management of the College’s financial and physical resources through effective performance in these essential functional areas: Strategic planning; Management of financial resources; Management of physical resources; Management of administrative services; Management of human resources.
The Associate Director of Finance and Administrative Services assists the Director of Finance with managing the College’s operating budget and is responsible for a wide range of accounting, finance and administrative services at a Community College. These services include responsibility for the following functional areas: Purchasing and procurement services; Contract development and compliance; Financial reporting; Accounting for capital bond funds; Other general accounting functions as assigned.
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; service on assigned committees and task forces; attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. All of these may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.
STARTING SALARY: $65,301 approximate annual, plus excellent State supported fringe benefits.
