TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: P/T Program Specialist-WIOA (WEOC)

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: The SUNY Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking a highly motivated, innovative and energetic professional to join its team. Located in downtown Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional performance-driven institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults preparing for college and/or seeking career-oriented employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The position supports the success of High School Equivalency students through coordination of WEOC and community resources.  The position will collect, compile and submit student performance data in compliance with New York State Education reporting requirements and monitor student progress toward retention, completion and career placement.  The position collaborates with WEOC’s career services staff to perform resume prep, career exploration, career readiness and where applicable, job search, placement assistance, and post-placement follow up.  The incumbent will also coordinate program-improvement team meetings that will meet regularly to assess and review program data and recommend changes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, recruitment and/or training, or in the analysis of program operations, marketing or customer services. The successful candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students; and demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills. Experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience using a student records management system, such as Banner or ASIST, is strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: $34.60 per hour for 28 hours/week. No benefits.  This position is funded under a 2-year grant.
