The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill one postdoctoral scholar position in Condensed Matter Physics. The successful candidate will participate in the synthesis of novel two dimensional materials for their application in electrochemistry. The candidate should be knowledgeable about various 2D materials synthesis routes, including bottom up, top down and scalable approaches. Experience in the electrodeposition of 2D materials is preferred. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and applications of 2D materials as catalysts for HER. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Materials Sciences or Physics. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a cover letter, CV and statement of research interests. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of re-funding.
