The Assistant Director (AD) will be primarily responsible for recruiting students into The University of Toledo’s Executive Master of Sales Leadership (EMSL) degree program and establishing/maintaining corporate partnerships and sponsorships in support of The Edward Schmidt School of Professional Sales (ESSPS) and its initiatives. Secondary responsibilities will include developing and executing marketing strategies to stimulate interest in both the EMSL and ESSPS. The Assistant Director will serve as the representative of the ESSPS in the absence of the Director, ESSPS.
Must have Master of Business Administration or other business Masters degree (from an AACSB institution preferred)
Minimum 3-5 years professional selling experience with consultative/conceptual/challenger selling (sales process consistent with that taught by ESSPS preferred)
Communication and other skills required:
Successful track record of new business development and account management
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the University and business community
Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and to work on numerous projects simultaneously; flexibility
Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
Reliability and dependability, including on-time arrival and departure
Ability to take instruction from multiple people
Proficient in computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), digital social platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter), SaaS management platforms (CRM and/or Association Management; Memberclicks preferred), virtual meeting tools (Zoom preferred), and website development and management platforms (Omni preferred)
Quickly and effectively learns new technologies as they evolve
Successful track record of engaging business community for fund raising, recruiting, training/consulting, development, and event coordination
Accomplished with key account management
Familiar with event design and management
Knowledge of University policies, procedures and operations
An occasional early morning, evening, and/or weekend will be required. Frequent daily and/or overnight travel as needed.
