Brenau University seeks energetic applicants who have:

  • An earned Ph.D. in Accounting or Ph.D. in a related discipline with 18 graduate hours in accounting and CPA. MBA or Masters in Accounting with CPA and significant accounting work experience will be considered.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching both traditional-aged and non-traditional adult students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  On-line instruction experience is desirable.  Teaching responsibilities may include teaching at both the Atlanta and Gainesville campuses as well as a commitment to the evening and online course delivery format. 

  • Previous work experience in public accounting, industry, government or consulting is desired since the accounting program is designed to prepare students for placement in the profession.  A strong focus on financial accounting is essential.

  • Past professional activities can include research and publication, consulting, leadership and active participation in accounting organizations. 

  • Other responsibilities of the position include university and department service, a strong student advising role, and shared oversight of accounting curriculum, adjuncts and assessment as part of the accounting faculty team.

  • Ability to work well with others, good communication skills, dependability and collegiality are essential within the department and the university.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.  The start date for this position is August 15, 2019.

Special Requirements:

Brenau University will conduct criminal background checks on all persons being considered for initial employment. In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Credit checks may be performed on employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. Due to insurance requirements, employees operating university vehicles must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia drivers license, and good driving record. An MVR may be performed during the hiring process. All employees who operate university vehicles or who are employed in a sensitive position may be subject to post hire drug screening and random drug-screenings. All employees are subject to reasonable suspicion drug screening.
