Position Summary

Come join Oregon’s largest community college and one of the best public online learning programs in the country. We’re looking for a dynamic individual who can help serve online students with important wrap-around services. This position includes coordinating services like tutoring, proctoring, outreach and orientation, communication and advocacy for online student needs across the college. You would also be working with other online student services staff in advising and support to improve online student success in a variety of ways.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.

Job Success Qualifications - In your cover letter, please clearly describe how you meet the following 4 criteria (limit 2 pages total)

1. Experience supporting online students

2. Experience coordinating a program or service

3. Competence working with web applications like wikis, online calendaring, project management tools, content management systems. 

4. Experience researching in areas such as student success, online learning, changes to higher education legislation, etc.

Additional Success Criteria:

Experience creating and organizing content in a Learning Management System

Experience coordinating projects with team members in and outside the department.

Experience advocating for constituent needs on workgroups or committees

Experience evaluating new software programs to meet college/program needs.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor’s degree in Education with an emphasis in student services (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).

Two years of experience developing online student services, creating instructional and informational material for the internet, and using computers and software to communicate with students.

Position Grade 4

Starting Salary Expectations $47,335 to $50,709 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Position Grade Salary Range $47335 to $82083 Annual Salary

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees) 

- Starts at 13.33 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of services) 

- 1 day of sick leave per month 

- 11 holidays 

- 3 additional personal leave days per year

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in an office setting. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Work pressure from deadlines and daily interruptions of work flow are expected and occur on a regular basis.

Minimal physical exertion is required. Learned physical skill is required to perform keyboarding function.
