The Mathematics Department at Elmira College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics beginning fall 2019. Applicants are expected to possess a doctorate in the field at the time of hire. The appointment involves teaching, service, advising, and scholarly activity that is broadly defined. Conducting research with undergraduates is strongly encouraged. In addition to staffing the mathematics major, faculty in the department support other programs throughout the College including General Education. Candidates should be ready to teach a broad range of mathematics courses, including college algebra and precalculus, elementary and advanced statistics, calculus, and upper division courses in the major. Our department is committed to active learning and collaboration. The use of technology-based interactive learning strategies is a central feature of most of our courses.
